Honors House Highlights 2025-26

The Honors House Living-Learning Community (LLC) provides University Honors students with the opportunity to live, learn, and connect with like-minded peers. The Honors House, located in Patterson Hall, numbered about 200 this academic year, making it the largest LLC on campus.

Our weekly event series, Honors House Community Nights, feature a new social event each week. Hosted in the Patterson Community Center, these events are meant for Honors House residents to come together and build community with other Honors House residents. Some of the most popular events this year included: ice cream socials, bingo nights, and crafting events like painting mirrors and decorating journals. In total, we hosted 28 Honors House Community Night events this year.

We also hosted monthly Honors House Faculty Dinner events. These dinners are meant for Honors students to come and meet Honors staff and faculty and get to know them outside of the classroom. Additionally, to share a meal together and receive advice from the featured speaker. Each of the six faculty members that we featured as speakers this year are involved in the Honors Program, either through teaching Honors mini-sections, Honors seminars, or serving on the Honors Committee.

In the fall semester, Honors House took a trip to Jonamac Orchard in Malta, IL where we enjoy the corn maze, donuts, cider, and now friendships.

We look forward to continuing to offer these programming opportunities for the Honors students living in Honors House in the 2026-27 academic year.
